For the discussion on if/when the new seat will be on (insert flight/route here), please see the companion thread here: British Airways Club Suite 2019 - (When) Will I get the new seat on my flight?
On 18 March 2019, British Airways announced its new Club World seat:

As for the door, I suspect it will divide opinions.

I had been waiting for this announcement with anticipation, and with the hope that BA can pull something out of the bag. Current CW did need kicking into touch 5+ years ago.
That being said, I am very impressed This looks like a very solid J product, finally addressing the issues found with the current J offering.
All aisle access, more storage space, reduced density. Finally in the same league as AA, CX, QR et al. As a poster said upthread, it may now mean that BA is a serious contender to pick instead of other carriers across the Atlantic, and I hope it plays out that way. Going east? I'm not yet convinced this product will warrant a stop in London when there are plenty of other great options out there.
The only concerns are how long it will take to appear on the JFK run (or I may not be able to try it for a long while), if they provide a soft product to match and that the bed is actually comfortable to sleep in.
Well done BA - I do very much look forward to trying out this product

This looks great! I was wondering if anyone knew why on the seatmap (Image Detail) some of the seats are blocked out. Seems a strange distribution around the cabin.

Been waiting for this for a long time and I have to say I was not expecting this layout. And being of only 5" 10 , the foot coffin is a non-issue for me - so this ticks just about all boxes for me. Presume none of the 747s will be retrofitted? So what does that mean for LHR-JFK route? Will it be a long time before we see many of these seats on that route?
