Ba change equipment

My flight lhr-yyz BA0093 has changed from a 789 to 777-300. I can see no posibility of booking first.

Do they change the layout or do they keep the first area closed or are they sold out.

What is the primary cause of change of planes for BA.

Sorry if this has been answered before

789->77W still keeps an F cabin. What’s the issue here?

What’s the flight date so can be checked? It’s an uplift in theory from 8F to 14F. Most 789 cuts are due to the ongoing engine issues

If there is a switch of equipment some months after the booking window opened (355 days) it's unlikely BA would start to sell First, particularly if it is a one-off change. They may offer what is known as FLUB class, First seats, Club service, for which there are a number of threads in this forum. The short version is that if this happens it will only be because it is the only way to get everyone on board, and there is very little you can do to get a FLUB seat other than ask at the airport.

Every day there are something like 40 aircraft changes, it's not so unusual, and 787s have availability issues due to the Trent engine servicing process.

But CWS if it is indeed 789 to 77W then it’s a First route to a First route...

Well it's an aircraft with a First Cabin to an aircraft with a First Cabin, indeed a bigger one. But if it wasn't on sale before the move, they won't open it up again in my experience.

This flight has gone from a 3-class B788 to a 4 class B772, still being sold as 3 class though so FLUB will apply if required.
