I am going to try Aperol with Jeeper the next time I am in the Flounge. That’ll be a very pink drink.
(Do they have Aperol in the Flounge?)

Totally off topic: when using ALT+ to insert foreign characters when posting here using Chrome, one seems to need to add a leading zero to the ANSI character; so ALT + 232 gives Þ whereas ALT + 0232 gives the required è. I did not know that and it caused me to spend extra time working it out, during which time I am told I had promised to empty the dishwasher.

Forgive me, Fathers of l'Académie Française , for I have sinned. I repent, and have started the self-flagellation to reveal my penitential mind

Back OT, it seems you spent valuable dishwasher emptying time on searching for means of adding a "required è". On their website it's certainly spelled with an é.

So, we'll meet in Purgatory, n'est ce pas?

Addendum: just before posting I found a more easy way of adding french letters with accents here

Edit: Sorry for not replying sooner, it's hard to type when busy with the whip. @orbitmic beat me to the comment on accents

And adds a plea not to forget the required hyphen for good measure!

ps: sorry I know it’s all ot but if it helps us all forget the traumatic image of decent Champagne turning bright orange...

A topic you’re more acquainted with than flying with BA? 😊

And that’s what it tastes like. Last time I was in DUS, almost the entire upper floor (above the B Gates) had been converted into an Aperol themed beach scene.

Can you imagine!

Doc Copper

PS - it was deserted. DC

Yes, German airports always seem to have Campari or Aperol promotions in the summer, usually complete with young ladies whose minimal dressing also befits the beach theme! The Germans just seem to love Spritz and Campari.

Mind you, unlike other expressed opinions here, whilst I do find Aperol in LGPS a waste (though no mpre so than, say, the CCR or onboard's mediocre orange juice), I really do like both a Spritz and a Campari-soda. I wouldn't mind BA offering more of those (alongside summery Pimm's cocktail for those who object to 'foreign' delights! - Not that the UK is known for producing many of the oranges and lemons which are required for that very English drink...)

UK does a fine line in cucumbers and strawberries, though. One must be flexible in the imminent non-European scenario!

May I suggest a bowl of fruit salad with a splash of Pimms over it?

On the contrary, oranges and lemons have been grown in glasshouses in the UK since the 1700s. It is the origin of the term "orangery". This would have provided slices of orange and lemon in your gentleman's cocktail in a club (such as the CCR) before easy transport of imported fruit from southern Europe.
