flying on 7 March. CW seat plan looks like a 4 class aircraft. I have been made wary of choosing a seat in the F cabin in case we get bumped back to a middle seat in CW or nexto the toilets.

The 2166 from Tpa to Lgw on March 7th is showing full with all fare classes zeroed out. If the F cabin is available for selection I would go for it if I were you. I think it's going to be in use for that flight.

FLUB for Rank and File

We are flying TPA-LGW next week and it is showing a 4 class aircraft which appears to be pretty full (J0). As a lowly Blue BAEC member, is there any point in trying to secure a FLUB?

Isn't this already being discussed in a separate thread?

If FLUB is available it's worth a try, thete are unlikely to be too many golds on the flight given it's a holiday route. (I was told by cabin crew they prioritize gold's in cw into flub). If you don't get upgraded you might just find you can get into some nice seats in CW vacated by others...

He has, I just read the other thread and FLUB does seem very likely for some.

We’re travelling back from TPA to LGW on a 4-class 777, practically sold out in Club. 5 Mar.
We have good seats in Club, but for an overnight flight would love to move to FLUB.
At the moment (post T-72) Expert Flyer shows all seats bar 2 bassinets taken in Club, but all of FLUB blocked out. So FLUB will almost certainly open.
We’re both silver.
1) Am I right in thinking that unless the seats miraculously appear on MMB or online check-in we can’t do anything till we get to the airport? e.g. phoning up BA is pointless.
2) Also - in this situation would you avoid checking in until the airport? Or is it better to check in and not print boarding pass?
3) Do the check-in staff understand this situation? I’d imagine they’re contracted, not BA staff.
Thanks!

Flub is not normally opened unless it has to be because it requires crew to be assigned to it.

If you are selected then you don't in my experience get a seat choice.

status helps but only gold and ggl seem to be assigned for sure

check premium economy loads, if that's oversold and club is full then flub is more likely to be opened up

As Golds we have been non-FLub-ed twice. It’s a pure lottery!

maybe we have just been lucky then, if there's flub and we are in cw we get it, possibly because we are happy with middle seats... !

Who actually makes the decision and when is it made. Is there any point in arriving early to check in or has it been done by then? Thanks
