Out of interest, if the airline eject seamen would there be a claim for EC261 compensation or do you just have to take it on the chin?

Download the data and upload to the flight sim for a training scenario. Although not sure how much intervention was needed from the pilot.

I think that was nervous laughter whilst buttocks were being tightly clenched. As for the creaking, I wonder how much stress the wings and fuselage were going through at the time, with engines on full power too!

I know nothing about it either.

Seem to recall one of our lurking pilots mentioning GIB as an airport which can give problems. Think it was something to do with the convergence of the two seas plus the rock which sometimes give strange wind conditions.

Don't think this was the post I was referring to earlier but a search revealed some info from Waterhorse. ''Sometimes airports, indeed some runways have micro-meteorological conditions that can lead to landing problems. Gibraltar and Kos spring to mind here.'' from this thread.

This may give an idea of how tricky the winds can be at GIB

I could have drawn that. It's just a diagram with arrows pointing in random directions.

The creaking sound on the video will be internal cabin fixtures moving around a bit, things like the overhead bins and also the seat units moving against the attachments to the cabin floor. Seeing as they're all rated to +16G in an accident, nothing to worry about from a bit of wing-wobble.
