Premium Econ ORD to LHR : BA A380 or BA B747 or AA B787 ?

I am debating which aircraft to fly.

Whats important to me is seat width and legroom over anything.

Can you all please give me your thoughts on both products?

Also if you can....where is the best place to sit?

380 Window seat left hand side as far forward as possible...... You risk getting the old product on the 747

Legroom is about the same. The A380 seat is marginally wider though.

I generally prefer the A380 seat as I just find it to be more comfortable

Many 747s have better IFE than the 380.

That said A380 everytime in WT+

I'd go for the A380 too,for the reasons already outlined above. However, in the 747's favour, the WT+ cabin is smaller and can feel more intimate. With the A380, you're on the upper deck (so it's a narrower space) and there are more rows of seats.

Long and thin better than short and thick in my mind, so that may be a personal thing

(not that’s what she said!)

The main thing is that all the passengers are successfully delivered.

A380 will be newer and smoother.
747 may have poor or non-working IFE.

If you’re a gambling on upgrade type of passenger, I would go for 747 if it’s the 86J. More chance of being rolled forwards and from a smaller cabin you might have more chance...

Agreed, I have found the seats on an old configured 747 comfortable enough, but if the IFE experience is important to the OP's journey or if the OP wants to see if the old IFE would affect their enjoyment of the journey, here's a suggestion. Find a Youtube video that you would like to watch which can be viewed in 1080p but watch it in 144p. If you happy with 144p then you should be OK with the old IFE.

A380 is on the later flight + better seat for sleeping I find. The IFE is better on the 747 but I can’t see that making a substantial difference on a redeye. Some argument for the upgrade potential of a Super-J 747 but otherwise I’d choose the Airbus flight.
