Seat change notification 6 months out.

Myself and Mrs endo are booked on a 777 to SAN in Club in September. Just had notification of a seat change from 11JK and now EF is showing 11K as blocked. The notification showed it as being for operational reasons. Club cabin is pretty wide open so I've moved us to 13JK so I still get a window. Just wondering if anyone knows the possible reason for this change and the seat being blocked so far in advance?

Is it a bassinet seat?

I wonder whether it's the same as was mentioned in this thread from a couple of years ago: Noob question about seat selection!

A change of planned aircraft (sub-)type would certainly seem likely to be the root cause for a seat change this far ahead.

Not a bassinet. Seatmap looks exactly the same on EF, 777 300, Time may tell.

Yes this is crew rest purposes on longer 777-300 routes. Best to avoid that area when selecting seats, ditto 7J 7K on 787s. More details in the relevant aircraft threads in the Dashboard.

Looking at the first couple of weeks of September, 11K is consistently blocked on all flights. So whatever the reason, at least it's unlikely to be anything personal or peculiar to this single flight.

I booked a flight several months ago, for October this year, and 11K was already blocked at that time.

Yep, it had put us in row 10 which I knew had no window, hence my move back a bit.
I'm booked in row 10 (A) and didn't realise it didn't have a window? Is it misaligned or something? I booked it especially for the view, as most of the other window seats are over the wing.

I've just looked at that link, and will move to row 11. Thanks
