Curious. What did BA do yesterday with the delayed #48 SEA-LHR?
We had a big snow storm yesterday in Seattle ( the 5th in a week) and the SEA airport was struggling.
I noticed that yesterday's flight #48 from SEA-LHR was " delayed" from its 6:30 PM departure until today at 1:25 PM...........a good 19 hours late.
In a situation like that what would BA do for the passengers?
Thanks.

Provide what is called ‘duty of care’ as per regulation EU291 so hotels (and transport to/ from hotel to airport) and meals. Pay for a couple of,phone calls if needed.

The return flight number points to it coming back with without passengers (but usually filled with more cargo if they can)
British Airways B777-200ER G-RAES Returns from Seattle. | The BA Source
Following its overnight weather delay, British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-RAES departed Seattle early this afternoon operating yesterday’s delayed BA48 Seattle – London Heathrow as BA9608.

BA would ordinarily provide hotel and meal vouchers or leave passengers to make their own arrangements and submit receipts for later reimbursement. The former is ordinarily relatively easy at SEA because there are decent hotels relatively close by and availability ought to be there. However, in massive IRROPS such as occurred at SEA, it is all about availability and it is not always possible to accommodate everyone.
Worth noting that some substantial percentage of passengers are SEA-originating and they will simply return home. BA will cover their local transport costs if submitted, but those tend to be relatively minor.
