AMS-BKK INCEU60 Fare (BA)

Hi

Had a quick search but couldn't see this discussed yet. I used to use the AMS-BKK fare quite often which if you booked +60 days out was a
very reasonable price (£1300~) and could be routed quite flexibly AMS-LHR-XXX-BKK where XXX was SIN, HKG, KUL (from memory).

Couldn't find any similarly priced fares coming up so I checked EF and seems the routing rules are now just AMS-LON-BKK.

Hoping that isn't the end of this great fare, anyone know any more info??

Yes, it is no more.

Worth taking a look on the TP run thread for more detail on alternatives.

Yep the scenic routings (/ comfortable and good use if GUF or Avios to First) are gone

dicussed a few weeks ago on the TP run thread and premium fare thread.

clearly a deliberate change to the fare to remove connecting options through KUL/SIN/HKG. I think it’s unlikely those routings will be added back in anytime soon.

Now that BA have changed the fare and GUF to F is no longer available, it would be wise to look at the alternative airlines flying between AMS and BKK, some of which have excellent J products.

Whats the routing to get to HKT? Is it via DOH?

Apologies found it on Matrix can route through HKG out and KUL back to avoid the old 777s on the BKK route for £1600

Very handy info; beware of the
AMS-LON-SIN-3K-HKT
routing, no Avios/TP on 3K (Jetstar Asia). The others via HKG or KUL are better.

If you want to go to HKG you can book from Germany for about £1550 return in J. No really routing options other than the LHR-HKG flights.

AY have a fare around the £1500 mark to BKK from EDI, MAN and AMS which routes via HEL direct to BKK and can go via HKG if you want. Slightly higher option ex-LHR too at just under £1700.

A few years ago, I did DUS-LHR-xxx-HKG - with KUL as the stopover in my case... Is this also no more?

There is a 60 day advanced purchase Germany-HKG fare for about £1550 in J if that is of use. This only allows GER-LHR-HKG routing tho.

The cheapest DUS-LHR-KUL-HKG-LHR-DUS fare I can see is about £1880.

What about vice versa, going from Asia to AMS?

Sorry, my bad. I am looking for LHR-KUL, so historically good BA advanced purchase combinations that I've bought were:
(1) AMS-LHR-KUL-BKK c.£1300
(2) GER-LHR-KUL-HKG c.£1500

Looks like (1) is gone (or now >£2k), possibly replaced by HKT (c.£1800); I can't find (2) for under £2k. To be honest, I can even see AMS-LHR-BKK-KUL-LHR-AMS for £1700...

Any other suggestions... or back to QR?
