So a twitter reply from the paintshop (IAC) to Dave Wallsworth seems to suggest that Negus is being rolled out tomorrow (Thursday)...

I believe there is a photoshoot planned with the four retrojets and Concorde planned.

The 747s used by NASA were modified to take the orbiter's weight, with additional interior support (details here), although one had previously been in commercial service with JAL.

Thanks for that link. When I mentioned I'd seen a 747 with the Shuttle on top, I meant actually flying. It was (as per the NASA link) NASA 905 carrying Enterprise on tour in Europe in 1983. I was in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire when they flew right overhead.
