Cracking picture and what a lovely day you got for it.

What equipment did you use?

Good to see G-CIVB will be arriving around 20th March in Landor, which it was originally delivered with !

I'd rather they just cleaned the planes properly and loaded enough food the paying passengers rather than spend money on paint and Olivia Colman reading out her poem!!

I am going to hazard a guess here that the money for this has come from a marketing budget rather than the cleaning and catering budget. Whilst marketing is an expense, it has been known to generate revenue too.

I think BA needs LESS marketing and MORE operational excellence and customer service!

Why is it not possible to do both?

I think the retro liveries are great and can see this thread is for the aviation enthusiast or for just plain nostalgia. Let's not use this as another thread to be negative.

Surely most of the cost is accounted for as the planes need painting anyway as part of routine maintenance.

Whaaat? You mean they've not retro-fitted livery-specific seating? I was hoping to relive happy memories of my dad popping down the back of the plane for a fag whilst I enjoyed the main screen entertainment!

Wow, as much as I moan about HAL not having (preferably outside) airside smoking areas in the terminals, I don't miss smoking areas on trains / planes...

I’m a purist. I was also expecting them to retrofit 1970’s avionics and bring back the flight engineer.

I'm stupid. I expected them to bring out a 747-100 from a graveyard somewhere...

The Y seating would have been more comfortable but getting stuck in the smoking section was horrible. That BOAC livery looks beautiful on the -400
