Has BA stopped Avios transfers from Iberia ?

I have both Iberia and BA avios and I wanted to transfer from Iberia to BA, which you could previously do online. The option is still there on BAEC but the avios do not transfer. I phone on the Gold line and was informed that this is not possible. Is this correct and when did IAG start blocking transfer?

Was the agent aware that this type of transfer was allowed previously?

I can log into the combine my Avios system on both my BA and Iberia accounts but can only transfer from BA to Iberia. It's been like this for me for a long time and I just assumed it was a bug. Maybe it's on purpose?

My avios.com account is still active (I have AerClub membership) and if needed I use avios.com to transfer i.e. IB --> avios.com --> BA. I did a transfer this way last week.

Would be good to know if the rules have been changed.

I have just been able to transfer Avios from Iberia to BA by going into my BA account, combine Avios and pulling the Avios from IB to BA without any problem.
Might be worthwhile logging into your IB account first as they require a password reset every 12 months.

Anything useful to the OP in this other thread about IB to BA transfers? Apparently a different browser can help: combine my avios broken?

I had no problem transferring my Avios from IB to BA using the BA portal using Firefox.

Working as always.

There are several potential explanations, none of which are: BA has stopped Avios transfers from Iberia

Can you easily exit a Household account and then do a transfer from IB?

Transfer to an Avios.com account first, then to your BA/IB account from there.

Surely Avios.com accounts are dead and buried by now?

Yeah, the browser flavour issue persisted with the diamond club transfers until all of our mbna credit cards disappeared. I don’t think that they ever fixed it.
