selecting seats on Iberia flights

I have a booking through BA which has a couple of Iberia segments. I can't seem to book seats on these. I have gone through BA onto Iberia and it had already preselected seats with no way of changing. I have logged on to my Iberia account and used the Iberia reference and also the BA one but it doesn't recognise there is a booking. I had this on my last flights and just let it go. We were not seated together but swapped as another couple had also been split up. Same seems to be happening with these flights. I know its not the end of the world on 2 hour flights but I just think I must be doing something wrong?

This is a common problem for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but I was able to change my Iberia seat reservation on my most recent booking via Qatar manage my booking. It's worth a try.

Glad its just not me, but it is a bit annoying. Thanks for the tip. Off to try it!

Common problem. If it's a 125 ticket, just call BA and they can sort the seat selection on the IB sectors. I've given up playing with the other airline sites, on bookings with IB metal booked as BA codeshares. If any of the IB sectors are a connection from BA metal (e.g. BA metal LHR-MAD, connecting to IB metal MAD-XXX), you might also have problems getting boarding passes for the IB sector, at least in the app.

On the plus side, the Avios and TPs seem to credit without problem, which they never do the other way round (BA metal sectors booked as IB codeshare on 075 ticket).

Thanks. I have managed to change the seat selection on Qatar. If i am flying long haul in the future I would just phone BA I think.
