Using CX Reward Booking to Get BA Avios
I've recently made a Asia Miles Flight Award booking through CXs website, for a BA flight, LHR-CPH.
I then changed my FF number from my CX Marco Polo to BA Executive Club, through the trick on Finnair.com
I understand that with BA at least, you don't earn either Tier Points or Avios with reward bookings, but on my BA exec account, under "Manage MY Booking" it shows that I'll be receiving the full Avios and 40 tier points.
Is this some sort of glitch or do you actually earn Avios and Tier points when using miles from a different oneworld loyalty program?

MMB has a few glitches and unfortunately that is one of them. On the rare occasion they do post then you may get lucky but I would be confident in saying not.
Anyhow! Please allow me to welcome you to Flyertalk and the BA Board mijebsen. Any more questions please fire away and if you want to read more on BA/Oneworld etc then the BA Forum Dashboard is full of great information. Welcome aboard!

On reflection, maybe some things should stay private :-)

Perhaps it's wiser not to advertise credits in our favour....................

I think you can actually thank LATAM’s IT for that

Not something we tend to publicise, but at least it's LATAM IT responsible. If it was BA the loophole would have been closed awhile back by those who monitor this and other forums.
