Perhaps if it were in a proper thin champagne flute it would look ok as it is a big glass there but my guess it was being rationed out to many.

I had similar flying to JFK recently, with the added bonus that it had been sitting round for a while so it was warm and flat. Don’t think there was a lot more coming back so seems to be a new trend.

Same (though water rather than champagne) coming back from JNB. I assume a service standard somewhere requires the glasses not to be filled too much.
