How early to arrive at DXB?

I’m in J on BA108 DXB-LHR tomorrow. Never used BA at DXB before, how early should I arrive for the flight, are the check in and security queues fast?

If you have an Emirates ID and the ability to use First Check in it helps. When I do take it I aim for 2 hours.

Maybe add another 15 20mins then, to be safe. Dubai can be odd sometimes.

I think so. That's the late morning one isn't it? The DXB and AUH flights all dissolve into a blur for me I'm afraid.

The real busy time for flights from DXB is the middle of the night - arriving at DXB 2 hours before should be more than sufficient. There will be 2x security - main and then again at the gate but it’ll be managed well. Keep in mind too that BA has its own lounge in DXB.

Yes - 10am will be quiet. Arriving 2 hours in advance will give you plenty of time in the lounge. For future reference, on arrival at DXB, register for SmartGates (assuming you are from a country that this is available). This only takes a couple of minutes. Then, on departure, you can skip the queue for passport checks, and just use the Smartgate machines.

You do have to get a monorail to the D concourse, but it's 5mins end to end.

There's a nice little BA lounge upstairs when you arrive, but it holds bitter memories for me as the last time I was in there, we all watched England get knocked out of the world cup!
