Current methods to check fare/booking class availability:
If you are requesting flight load / class availability, please provide the following:
1. Actual travel date (don't say tomorrow, or similar, as that is ambiguous given the global flyertalk membership)
2. Departure and arrival airport codes
3. Flight number
Thanks!

Many thanks - however you'll have to forgive me, I don't understand the POS (Point Of Sale?) aspect - possibly you could explain what relevance a UK POS offers pls? Many thanks again

Hi, sorry.

yes POS = point of sale.

So you asked the availability but it does change where you going to buy the ticket. so in your example HKG-LHR 20th Feb BA 28
If you buy the ticket in the UK
F7 A6 J9 C9 D9 R9 I9 W9 E9 T9 Y9 B9H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G9
if you buy the ticket in HKG
F7 A5 J9 C9 D9 R9 I9 W9 E9 T9 Y9 B9H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G9
if you buy the ticket in the US
F6 A5 J9 C9 D9 R9 I9 W9 E9 T9 Y9 B9H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G9

and etc. so in your case the only real difference is in the First class availability the rest looks fully open. but in other flights it could be totally different depending where you buying the ticket. Also just to complicate things if it's a connecting flight, etc other carriers codeshares, etc then it can be also other variation of the load numbers.

I think most of the people when asking a load on LHR-XXX I default to UK POS but you asked HKG-LHR so not sure is this ticket is a part of a round trip or you looking a one way ticket from HKG, etc. so it can be complicated....

I have a question about interpreting a result.

LHR-BOS in early February on a 3-class 772 is currently showing this:
J9 C5 D5 R5 I0 U0 W0 E0 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 N9 O9 G9

Am I correct in saying that, being in WT at the moment, chances of any reasonably priced POUG or AUP (or indeed the holy grail of an op-up) are totally zero as WTP is overbooked (and oversold?)?

Thanks all and in return I'll try to help out with the next request for loads

Thank you!

May I ask then how the POS affects the LHR-KUL BA0033 flight above (13 FEB 2019) ? Thanks!

I always assume someone is buying in the UK unless they say to the contrary.
