Welcome to the thread. This is a continuation of the highly popular 2018 Tier Point thread (found here). We keep track of other prices, as well as useful reference information for those planning tier point runs.

Please read the first few posts in this thread first as it contains lots of information which may answer your question.

This is a community-maintained wiki post. Please add important information to it or correct outdated information by clicking the "Edit" button below.

A new guideline thread for TP meetups has been created on 31 March 2020. If you would like other members to join your TP, or if you want to organize a TP run with other members. Please visit there. From the first few posts over there you could see the active ( confirmed ) TP meetings and the links to their relevant discussion threads, connect with other members and learn the details about the run. Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post 4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...

For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times

Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.

If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.

Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here

Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread (here), MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and return on Sunday for well under £500.

Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).

Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

Some creative routings from MXP maybe? MXP-HEL-LHR-JFK-MIA (40+80+140+40)*2 for 1600€ or MXP-HEL-DUB-ORD-JFK-MIA (40+80+140+40+40)*2 for 1750€

TP Runs from Canada (YYZ)

TP runs for we North American members are hard to come by as AA's premium cabin fares have increased over the past couple of years and domestic F is now booking as an I-class subset of business. And such sweetheart deals like the <£1,000 SJU-MIA-LAX-KOA rtn in an actual F fare category are long gone. Not to mention for we Canadians, there are few if any low fare, premium opportunities on the continent (and positioning to Inverness is a bit of a pain to get back home in BA F for <£1500 including a return to the UK).

Option 1
However, for anyone in the Toronto YYZ ares, I've come across a C$960/U$730/£590 business class fare between YYZ and PTY that can be done with an overnight turnaround if spending a few days in Panama City, Panama is not to your liking. Variations of routings offered on the AA.com site range from four to six segments and if you can manage early morning, pre-7a flights, can be done without an interim US airport hotel overnight on the return. Though most routings via PHL or LGA will include one economy segment from/to YYZ, DFW and CLT routings can yield up to six 40 TP business class flights totalling 240 TPs. This works out to £2.45/TP. Fare appears to be available through most of the fall (September to mid-December) and likely reappears throughout 2020 outside peak periods for sun destinations.

I've booked a next day turnaround for later September: YYZ-DFW-MIA-PTY (DFW-MIA on a 772 in flatbed J) and PTY-MIA-PHL-YYZ (MIA-PHL on a 763 in flatbed J). My PHL-YYZ is in full-Y so drops that segment down to just 20 TPs.

The fare rises about £150/C$245/U$190 with Friday, Saturday or Sunday flights.

Option 2
Even better: From time to time AA will have crazy fares ex-YYZ in PE to GRU or GIG. I will be flying one of these in early September that I booked at C$750/U$570/£460. The routing is YYZ-MIA-GIG-MIA-CLT-YYZ. The Canada-US segments book into full Y so yield 20 TPs each (20x3=60) and the MIA-GIG-MIA flights yield 90 TPs each. Total TPs: 240 or £1.90/TP.

I booked something in February (on an INV-LAS fare from memory) which has a 787 on the transatlantic connecting to the A330 on the transcon flight. I would take either of these hard products over the current BA Club World. Unfortunately schedule changes have already seen my return PHL-MAN-LHR routing replaced with PHL-LHR direct
Your message actually leads me to an idea - how would I best find out if I can route one of the good fares through txl?
Because there is an AA flight txl-phl I would be willing to take, but not in economy. If I could book one of the good fares, I might create enough tp for a flight like

for example inv-lhr-txl-phl-lax-las or hel-txl-phl-... should be possible in theory, but matrix only returns 'no flights'. I assume it is in the routing rules, but I would not know really where to look.

Fare rules for British Airways (BA) IQX5C7M4 INV to PHX only say

ARN seems to work too for a similar price.

Happy to have been corrected, although it still seems to me to be less of a "TP run" just for the TPs and a lot more like a TP maximising way of getting to Australia. Perhaps just semantics...
Certainly true, as I said, I needed to go back to Oz for Christmas and just decided to maximise the TPs I could get. I would not do this if I didn't need to go to Oz, but it's nice when a trip you need coincides with getting decent TPs!

Has anyone managed to use the current rendition of the INCEU60 fare to build a reasonable TP fare?

I'm looking to go to TPE for the first week of October and would like to go in Business class. I currently have something like AMS-LHR-HKG-TPE for £1.9k (see image attached). It's another £50 off if I go from FRA but I plan to do a B2B using Avios and it generally doesn't seem to be recommended to do as such from there. I've tried a couple of things to add stops on the EU/Asia side of things but seem to be failing terribly — wondering if someone's Matrix-fu (or other tool of choice) would be stronger than mine? I don't have a particular target amount of TP as this will be after my reset but curious if I can improve it over the 440 I'd get. I can leave as early as the Thursday before and could also arrive earlier than that Wednesday back in the UK.

An alternative would be to do ARN-DOH-SIN with QR at £1355 for 560TP (again using Avios for LHR-ARN and vice versa) and then use a LLC to do the SIN-TPE return though the timing is fairly rough from SIN onwards in terms of just having a ton of time in between. Would appreciate any thoughts.

I don't think you'll get any better for INCEU60. However, I thought Qatar had a codeshare to TPE... but if you can't get on this, Avios redemptions for HKG-TPE are cheap. SIN is going to be more expensive. I think that you can find similar prices on QR for both SIN and HKG.

205 TP needed

Hi all!
so based in london and year ends 8th oct I need another 205tp I've looked hi & low but cannot find anything decent the best I've found so far is LHR-TLL via HEL for £607, and with a 45 min connection time and just over the £3 ratio it's not worth it, as it will only get me 200tp, ideally I would like to get the full amount in 1 trip
also prefer ro do it over a weekend
positioning is not a problem for me either (as long as it makes sense)
any advice please?
TIA

It's certainly possible - example below. The TXL flights are only in peak summer though.

The AA 767 converted to the new seats is a nice 1-2-1 layout. No at-seat entertainment but I think they do tablets internationally.

Also consider SOF-DOH-SIN at 1186 GBP plus a cash fight LHR-SOF for 292 GBP and a grand total of 720 TPs.
Alas, the timings of the SOF-DOH make a night stop in SOF almost inevitable on the outbound.
Furthermore, MH often runs very good deals to TPE, which would earn another 360 TPs from SIN,BKK etc.

I'm looking into this fare and seems on certain dates there is SOF-DOH flights available at 22.30 (QR 226), which would remove the need for a night stop (BA 890 arriving 13.15).

On the way back the DOH-SOF flight would arrive at 11.25 and BA's SOF-LHR would leave at 14.10. Is that enough time to pick up luggage & check-in again? Or is the safe choice to pick the 19.40 evening flight in case of delays/lost luggage. Any feedback from SOF visitors highly appreciated.

For this AMS-TPE fare bear in mind the routing table only allows certain routings:

MAP CONSTRUCTED LEFT TO RIGHT AND RIGHT TO LEFT
1. AMS-LON-BJS-BR/CI-TPE
2. AMS-LON-HKG-AE/CI-TPE
3. AMS-LON-HKG-BA/CX/KA-TPE
4. AMS-LON-HKG-BR-TPE
5. AMS-LON-HKG-CX/KA-CTU-CI-TPE
6. AMS-LON-HKG-HX-TPE
7. AMS-LON-SHA-BR/CI-TPE
