Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post 4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...
For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times
Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.
If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.
Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here
Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread (here), MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and return on Sunday for well under £500.
Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).
Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

It'll be fine - as said, the airport is tiny and if you're on a final call, they'll bump you up to the front at the gate security so can't imagine it'll be an issue. If you're flying in from UL J, they have a separate bus for business class passengers so you won't be waiting too long before it jets off to the terminal.

Popped into the lounge for a quick comfort break and then downstairs to the remote stand gates. Security was heaving!! Despite a sign saying priority for business class travelers, it was everyone for themselves! (DYKWIA!). Eventually through to the gate where the J passengers were being held until all the Y buses had gone! Panic over! By that time security was almost empty, so I would have had plenty of time for a cup of tea in the lounge!

Totally agree. I just did my return yesterday with 1hr 10min stop in CMB and it was too much time.
The screens update to say boarding or closed at times which can be misleading. On my outward journey I panicked thinking I had spent too long in the lounge, and spoke to the security who let me push through only to realise it was unnecessary panic. Just make sure you get your boarding ticket printed on your return. Lucky I saw chapers' note the night before returning as I had already downloaded the mobile boarding passes on my phone and had nothing to check in (odd they issue these if you are required to check in at the counter!).

Thanks AUHDXB, have taken your advice and have a 2 day stop in between the two back to backs and will spend the time with my daughter in Dubai. This will be my first real TP Run, I first spotted it on the TLFL website. However I only need about 950 points for Gold and don't need the extra 200 points suggested by flying premium economy with BA from Inverness (as suggested on TLFL) as it adds a day either end and means an extra nights layover in AUH as flying with BA seems to get there about 30 mins after the flight to CMB takes off. To make life easy I cut out the BA flight entirely and just took a cheap and cheerful Etihad flight to get me to AUH, with a 3 hour layover on arrival before the first outbound flight and a 3 hour layover at AUH on returning from CMB on the last leg before flying back to London. So overall it means the whole trip will cost £1390 for 1120 Tier points at £1.24 PP so not too bad.

I wasn't too fussed about losing my Silver status however I have had a complete change of mind and want to get to Gold and I currently have 45 TP.....
I have 2 weeks off work between 13th - 28th April and want to do a TP run across the US to get me to Gold. I have had a look in Google Flights but hoping someone can help me with the flights I should be doing. I've read US TP runs can sometime be as little as £0.40/TP so ideally I am looking at around that mark.

Would it be more sensible to let your current status expire, then go for the same TP run in the almost-2-month grace period you have between that date and the end of your Silver card validity? That would give you nearly 2 years’ worth of gold status rather than 1, for more or less the same outlay.
(I do realise that it may also be a factor of when you can get time off work, etc.)
In terms of routing, I can’t help much - plenty of others on here are far more experienced with US runs, and I’ll defer to their wisdom.

45 to 1500 TP is a long way to go, and the implication is that you won’t make up any (or much) more “organically” before your year collection end. You said you were not fussed about losing silver, which suggests your end of year is not that far off - I assume it’s after 28th April.

Hello all,
I am looking for your help to find a reasonable ex EU fare for march. I would need to fly the trans Atlantic sector on Sunday March 10th and could do the EU leg the day before if needed.
Returning I am looking to return on August 18th. I need to get to MSY but anywhere close ish would work as I could then position down.
Currently the best prices I am seeing are $2900 into JFK out of DUB which seems a bit steep.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
