Welcome to the thread. This is a continuation of the highly popular 2018 Tier Point thread (found here). We keep track of other prices, as well as useful reference information for those planning tier point runs.

Please read the first few posts in this thread first as it contains lots of information which may answer your question.

This is a community-maintained wiki post. Please add important information to it or correct outdated information by clicking the "Edit" button below.

A new guideline thread for TP meetups has been created on 31 March 2020. If you would like other members to join your TP, or if you want to organize a TP run with other members. Please visit there. From the first few posts over there you could see the active ( confirmed ) TP meetings and the links to their relevant discussion threads, connect with other members and learn the details about the run. Click here to access that thread.

Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post 4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...

For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times

Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.

If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.

Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here

Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread (here), MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and return on Sunday for well under £500.

Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).

Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

LHR-MAD-RAK gets you the same amount of TPs (80) as the direct LON-RAK. I doubt that route is a particularly efficient way of accumulating TPs.

We got it for £300 each meaning £1.90 / TP but that was earlier in the year. Entirely respectable value according to the tp run standards on the board

I wasn't simply referring to £ / TP, but the fact that connecting via MAD will take at least twice as long as hopping on whichever 80 TP direct flight is available in a decent sale. That may not matter if one really wants to visit RAK for the weekend or finds LGW to be hugely inconvenient, but doing 2 back-to-back to RAK doesn't seem like the best use of time to me...

If you do a search for the route this summer on ITS and then look at the fare rules then you’ll find the validity dates. Next April does seem to be excluded, which is a shame as I was hoping to kick start my new membership year!

If someone needs "cheap" 160 TP.
Luxembourg to Dublin via LHR is available at the moment for 280€ for flights next year Januay until March.

Has anyone else noticed MAD-LHR-DME/SVO in J on Google flights from around £670? It doesn't seem to have a click through option but may be able to be ticketed on an OTA. It's possible to do all four sectors with a flat bed for under £2/TP (360TPs). Could be useful if you actually want to visit Moscow, as I do!

Don't give up this fare for the Easter and Summer holidays seasons 2020 yet. They are now amending the validity periods later than before, learning a lesson from last year, when the Easter period for 2019 was scheduled like 2018, when Easter was unusually early.

Many posted having made reservations in late March, which were honored. Some 6 (8?) months ago they adjusted the 'spring break' to proper Easter time, thus resulting in two spring validity periods.

IIRC, the upcoming summer period was entered late 2019. So, hold your horses...

So I'm short 1240TPs before Oct. I want to renew my GGL and get from Europe to USA this summer. I see that theres still a good CAI-HNL fare, which would earn me that amount if I max out the routing, but I cant find any I space on the CAI-LHR flight, making the price almost $4K USD.

Best right now I could find is a routing like this:

earning me 960TPs. I would still be short 280 TPs

Have a look at positioning with something like LHR->LUX->OTP return. That was quite a bargain when I booked one a couple of months ago. Haven't yet checked your dates but will wander off and have a look.

You can finesse this to suit, but it's 240 TP and does your positioning

https://www.google.com/flights?hl=en...18*2.GBP.71318

You might be able to tag on a JER or INV start too to get to 280. Book with the multi city tool.

Yes the I availability on the CAI-LHR is limited. As you say you can be creative on routing via HEL or MAD I think.

There is a Spain to CAI premium fare that could provide extra wrap for TP’s e.g B2B in MAD enroute to CAI and back.

A random search for Sep (does it still count summer?) got this CAI-HNL trip, which will get you 1'200 tp for $US 2'500
You might wanna play around and adjust dates and flight times / connections to your liking.

EDIT: Just realized the AS segment, which will give zero tp. So with this one you're looking at 1'060 tp only.
You could route thru WAS though and get the 1'200 tp, similar price (43'600 EGP) possible on certain dates.

I will do similar with my current Silver status by letting it drop to Bronze then get the required TPs and BA flights after 8 October (when current tier points reset).

A discussion in Panama

Panamanian President speaking with the Tourism Minister;
"Why has there been such a drop in the number of British tourists?"
The Tourism minster replies "well you know el-presidente, BREXIT has impacted many countries, including ours"!!!
