Really ?

Ah, T8191 .... you must surely have led a sheltered life !

Many years ago, a colleague & I had the ‘benefit’ of access to a VIP lounge at Abidjan. After around five minutes, we decided to adjourn to the main concourse .... which had at least been cleaned at some point within the previous couple of months.

Seem to think (?) there was a dedicated thread a while back on worst-ever lounge experiences around the world, or something similar. But here I’m going o/t so best leave it at that.

Should some covers be invested in?

Have let the staff know, let’s see what they do about it.
Staff? Grief they have two speeds. Dead Slow and Stop! The have mastered the art of avoiding eyes.

I'd have gone to the Front Desk and got the Manager. That is absolutely unacceptable, in spite of the witty replies.

I can't believe we've got this far without any "Waiter, Waiter, there's a fly on my scone" type comments

My loathing for British Airways lounge scones has increased following this thread I'm partial to a fruit scone but not a fruit fly scone.

The only have to land on food to contaminate it

https://www.rentokil.com/blog/hygien.../#.XDINQhZyaEc

not to mention the thousands of maggots and eggs that are somewhere near breeding these flys. I mean they don’t just “fly” in one at a time from nowhere

Its very low end, like almost all buffets.

Always avoid these scones anyway... they're like the cheapest mass produced things you can buy in the value ranges at supermarkets.

Beware...at least in a plain scone the flies are obvious to see. A fruit scone on the other hand.....

As a camper of many years I suspect I've eaten hundreds if not thousands of insects.

Well it looks as though a certain DYKWIA who complained recently about the disappearance of boiled eggs in the arrivals lounge is now on Twitter not about the addition of flies on scones but pointing out he complained three weeks ago about the macaroni cheese and today his "beef" is with the soup and sandwiches in the Flounge along with the rice, poking of eyes and eyelashes. Thankfully for all of you still there he has now declared he has left - seems to be a very regular contributor on the subject of lounge food (and all things BA).

Conveniently leaving just as a manager offers to come out and talk to him!
