2019 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2018 or earlier if you have a 2019 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #9

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Standard £59 for LHR - NCL offered on online checkin. Only 3 rows of CE so I reckon I bagged the last seat (according to expert flyer I did anyway!). Always worth it for me as loads the TPs up nicely.

LHR-HAM and HAM-LHR later this month both £89.

Currently considering the application of the Hamburg Rule to the situation.

Does anyone know if the "travel agent rule" - i.e. usually not opening up until 2-3 days before departure is the same for BA Holidays bookings?

And on the same subject, any experience with multi seat bookings getting offered POUG? We are four seats in WTP going to SEZ at Christmas - so I'm not that hopeful!

Thanks in advance

CPT-LHR

I’m being offered an upgrade CPT- LHR, £989 to CW. (Feb 2020). It seems a bit high to me so not tempted - am I wrong? I figure that there’s still time to lurk and see what else comes along. Out of interest I did try to see what it would take in Avios, but got the old ‘No can do - ask the Call Centre’. routine. Why is this happening? I did the booking online myself. It often happens when I try to poug for cash as well.

Assuming that's for a WT+ to CW POUG for a straight LHR-CPT return? (Usually shows a Limited Offer in red at the top. Or are you doing it by clicking on upgrade your flight which will be the fare difference and so not a POUG. What are you seeing?)

That's a lot of money so unless your dripping in cash then personally it would be a definite no.

Youd have to do a standard reward search for UuA to see if theres availability to upgrade.

Its a BA 'Limited Offer' which has only recently popped up, so definitely a POUG. I'm getting the 'contact the Call Center' message on this - and also on previous occasions when I've just been clicking the Upgrade button to check. I agree, I also thought it was definitely no bargain - and sadly, no, I am not dripping in money!
