POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.
Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

Is that a genuine "limited time" POUG? Though the rounding makes it plausible, the fare amount is similar to a fare difference. The cheapest WTP is £729, the cheapest CW is £2149, so I would expect a POUG to be in the £800 to £1,000 area, one way.
If AA coded you would only get a POUG at OLCI or after, which is fairly rare, you wouldn't be offered anything in the weeks and days before OLCI. To get a POUG you best buy via BA.com. If you do a POUG, or the airport equivalent (AUP) you should get the extra TPs and Avios.

Quick question regarding cancellation - sadly BA refers me to manual refund, which is less than ideal as you don't know what you get back until you get it. Has anyone cancelled a POUG'd booking and received the upgrade fee back? I have a simple LHR-JFK round trip booked in WT, with return leg POUG'd twice to CW - if I cancelled it now would I get the upgrade fees back?

NCL -LHR before checkin
I was offered POUG about 5 hours before checkin opened, on a TA company booked ticket. Surprised that happened, as never able to upgrade TA ticket before its handed back to BA 24 hrs prior to departure.
Was offered usual price - £59 which is always worth it for me to get 40 TP.
Is this common?
