2019 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2018 or earlier if you have a 2019 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #9

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

BA 10 BKK-LHR £289 WT to WT+ for mrs rapidex. This on a ticket that originally cost £470 reduced to £450 by 2000 Avios. The upgrade earned an extra 7500 Avios plus the extra tier points.
No wonder BA send an old B777 on this route.

She did take it, and as a silver card holder enjoyed the CX lounge in BKK.

AMS-LGW, December, Economy Plus to CE, 178 euros per passenger.

Apologies, this wasn't pro-active, this is just the upgrade price I saw when I looked at my booking after the emailed offer link didn't work.

AUH-LHR 391 GBP for WTP --> CW. I am hesitating to take it. Short flight but at stupid o'clock so the bed position might be worth this.

Having flown AUHLHR in WTP, this is a bargain. Flight times are horrid.

Does LHR-FCO-LGW count as a simple return and therefore may be offered POUG? Any advice appreciated.

I don't believe so unfortunately, but AUPs are quite common on shorthaul routes.

I know LHR-EDI-LGW (etc) can get POUGs, and for that matter LCY-LIN/MXP-LHR, so I would have thought if that ticket was bought fully online as a LON-FCO-LON ticket, logically I would have thought it would be OK for POUGs. If it was done via a Contact Centre and they had to manually fare it then I suspect it wouldn't. Some tickets are essentially London to Rome, the end prices may vary due to different airport fees, but for POUG processing it should still work. POUGs aren't guaranteed however, there will be many FTers who wanted to POUG or AUP, couldn't get it and then ended up being upgraded free of charge.....

It could well be that there isn't a cost difference if bought as two single sectors.
