My points year is calendar year, which makes planning so much easier.

Easily retained silver for another year and spent Avios for the last few flights rather than "waste" tier points that wouldn't get rolled over.

This year is off to a great start! Off to Oz at the end of the month on CX via HKG in business. That should pretty much get me back in Silver before the end of February. So, I will be going for Gold this year for the very first time and will be shamelessly plundering this site for every tip and trick I can get my hands on.

Happy new points year to all!

I feel it good having a different month for resetting. I feel multicultural, like August is my Chinese new year or something. I find it hard to get people to have a New Year's party in August, however. Why are they such party poopers not getting excited about my TP reset year. hahaha

....
I use https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/custommenu.html to create A4 calendars covering my Membership Year for Holiday/TP planning purposes (in the current scenario May 19 - Apr 20). A bit of juggling with inputs in Part 2, and 'Bingo'!

This is another example of the weird things we do, thanks to FT.

I more old fashioned, preferring to log everything in an Excel spreadsheet.

Wonder if anyone out there engraves their TPs into the wall of a cave or into a stone slate.

Strangely I seem to manage the TPs without too much planning, my problem the last couple of years has been doing the 4 BA sectors.

For the second year running I was in a bit of a panic late November when I found myself comfortably past 1500TPs but with 0 BA sectors, clearly I need to stop redeeming avios and start paying for some BA sectors earlier in the year...

I've been getting more BA sectors than normal thanks to having to come to Europe so much for work at the moment. I find getting 4 straight forward by using BA into London and then finding an excuse to visit a friend somewhere in Europe. I'm sat in the gallaries lounge LGW en route to Barcelona to visit someone and collect 80 TPs. Not in need of any qualifying flights this year tho.

It's always a bummer when you have a nice chunk of TPs slip into previous year, happened to me and was due to work trip so couldn't move the date to go a day later.
