We did the train journey to Inverness from Glasgow for our trip to Vegas in June. It was superb. No issues at all. Couple of bottles of bubbly and lovely scenery.

A day.

To get to INV I find it's usually much cheaper to fly to ABZ and rent a car and drive to INV. It has the benefit of being one of the most scenic drives imaginable, and it passes directly past about 15 of the finest whisky distilleries in the world.

TRANSATLANTIC SECTOR. SEASON IS BASED ON TRIP DATE.
Also seems like the LAS fare has been pulled.

Book by 31 January (not 11 January)
Is this fare gone now even though it said book by 31 January?

I can only find the fare for around GBP 1600

The direct train from London Kings Cross to Inverness takes a little over 8 hours. If booked far enough in advance it would cost £60 in 2nd ("standard") class or £109 in 1st. A walk-up flexible ticket is £182 in 2nd and £266 in 1st.

I would personally rather try and get a 4000/4500 Avios + £17.50 RFS than pay that. Then again, if you're in no rush......
Handy for me being near MAN as one or two airlines fly to INV.

The Aberdeen-Inverness road isn't exactly the fastest route if driving. Takes me about 1h20 to do the 50ish miles from Buckie to Inverness train station (although the airport is a few miles before that) what with the police speed trap sometimes after Fochabers (just off a roundabout near Lhanbryde), Elgin (slow traffic if you time it wrong), tractors, caravaners, constant traffic the other way, having to know when you can safely overtake, Forres and Nairn etc.
Then again, some people, like my cousin, do floor it!
Too many speed cameras in Aberdeen as well.

Distillery wise, prefer leaving the A9 at Aviemore and driving through Aberlour and Rothes towards Elgin. Pass a few there, with others being perhaps up to 5 miles off the road (Cardhu, Macallan, Glenfiddich etc).

I can see if you live close enough to MAN then that would make sense.

I live perhaps an hour by train from MAN and given that I would need to leave probably 3 or so hours before flight time to be sure of making it, I could board a Glasgow or Edinburgh train at the same time and be well on my way to INV. Ultimately, I doubt there would be that much difference given I would be staying there overnight anyway.

Hawaii for 1500pds

I have read in this thread about the deal to go to Hawaii from osl with optimized tps but limited fare rules (excl Sept Oct)
I found a good bookable fare ex osl or arn wide open thru either hel or lhr to jfk and then phx for tp or dfw for a full flat to HNL or OGG . Booked 25th Sep to 10th Oct. For 820 tp. Only one layover in phx.
Can be 920 for the same price if you replace fullflat dfw on the inbound with phx chair. Same price.

Trying to find a business class fare London to MCO for November. I'd spotted one for about 1500 a couple of days ago but I dithered (I know - rookie mistake) and prices are now coming up about 1800. I'm happy to do a connection or two and ideally I'd like something around 1600 - 1700 GBP. Heading out 14 or 15th November and heading back on 18th or 19th.

Anyone got any suggestions?

ex Dub £1300

https://flights.app.goo.gl/zoZRh

Not all TP eligible but unsure what your objective is here other than budget?

if you play around maybe you can find a back/back compatible option in Dub..
