B2B preferable if HLO. Otherwise, there's a few B&B's close to the airport (usually ~65/night) or a hotel in town plus taxi each way for 20. There's also a bus into town, #10 I think?

Sorry, one more question here - our tier point year ends 8 June. If we fly on that date, do the points accrue to this year or next? The idea is to get this flight into the next tier year to ensure silver for an extra year. Unfortunately we aren't going to be close enough to gold to make the inbound count to this year.

We may miss out on the lowest sub-1K price, but a few extra days ahead of the 11th would be helpful.

Thanks again for all the help and comments everyone!

Just booked INV-LHR-MAD-BOS-PHX-LAX-MIA-CHS-LHR-INV for 955 or so. Not bad haul for 760TP.

Hi.

It will count for this year. If you flew on the 9th it would count in the next year.

You are correct in the respect of it being a bit crazy. A regular “hold” (an unticketed PNR) will be set up to auto expire at the ticketing deadline when the fare quote is stored. i.e., you cannot “hold” beyond the ticketing deadline, which is exactly what you would expect; and that should be advised to the customer.

I had assumed BA’s online holds work in the same way, but I haven’t used them.

I assume it doesn't, since it says "The price won't go up" on here https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb...r-flight-price

BAs online holds are a bit odd, I haven't used them for a while given being GGL and using those holds instead - but I seem to recall that it creates a ticket to hold the cash you've paid for the hold and accordingly also holds the original fare quote. I believe AAs holds are similar if you get the "more than 24 hours" paid hold.

Does anyone know the booking class on these, and flexibility? Tried a dummy booking but couldn't get the details.

The free hold - correct. A paid for 72 hour hold does retain the fare (it's part ticketed as part of that process).

Looks like there's another "flash" sale from Manchester, seeing good prices to some US west coast destinations. Looked at LAX (1,194) and LAS (1,190) departing on 5 March. Seems similar to the exINV sale from yesterday with a 50 day advance purchase requirement and no date restrictions on travel (aside from days of travel).

EDITED: Book on.before 11 January
