Hello, not sure if this is the right place to ask but i could not find anything on search either. I am trying to book using avios from DFW to Maui, this is on American Airlines. They have a premium economy cabin (different than main cabin extra from what i understand), however on BA only economy is available. If i book economy can i pay cash to upgrade to premium economy? This is on a 777-200.

CX awards

anybody know if the BA site has been working for CX awards? I know there may be low availability but nothing has been showing up at all lately?

Has avios redemption increased?
I used to upgrade off-peak from J to F for 45,000, now they are quoting me 47,500

On which route? I don't recall any mention of the pricing method having been changed.

Is this for your ABZ-LHR-IAH-LHR-ABZ trip? Another big bargain for me ?

It would be 22,500 avios off peak per flight CW to F, and 25,000 avios peak per flight CW to F. It sounds like one of your dates is off-peak and the other is peak.

There hasn't been any increase for a few years.

I'm hoping to transfer Ultimate Rewards to BA and book BRU-MCI in July. I see the following Economy MileSAAver available on AA.com, along with several other options:

However, I cannot get any availability to show when searching BA.com to use Avios. I'm new to booking via BA and read about "challenges" with their site... is there a trick to making availability show up?

If I want to upgrade using double avios as a gold do I have to call to book this?
I can't find how to do it online.
Do I book J and then call, or call to book the whole lot?
Thankyou

If J is available (which is double the cost of Y) then why not just book J?

Although that is me assuming you're booking a RFS.

By "double avios", do you mean the benefit of using twice as many Avios to get an award seat for a flight, if normal award availability isn't there?

And by "upgrade using double avios" do you mean buying a cash ticket for the lower cabin and using Avios to upgrade that into the next higher cabin (ie a UuA)?

If so, then you can't use the double Avios benefit to upgrade using Avios.

Double Avios works for a pure reward booking (i.e. all Avios) and not for upgrades. That limitation, added with the 30 day advance requirement makes it far less useful IMO.
