Missing tier points / avios on JAL flight
Hi, I recently took a JL internal flight as part of a BA itinerary. It's more than 7 days since the flight and on ba.com I just tried submitting a claim for missing avios / tier points on partner flights. However JAL doesn't show on the dropdown list of partner airlines and I have to select 'Other'. This takes you to a form to be filled out and faxed to BA (you read that right). Am I doing something wrong? Any way round this?
As an aside, when I checked in to the flight at HND I noticed my BAEC number wasn't showing on the boarding card and I asked the agent to check that my BAEC number was registered - they assured me it was. Should the BAEC number show on the JL boarding card if it has been correctly applied? (I have further JL domestic flights on this booking).

I see your point. I've never used the Other Airlines drop down entry and it suggests that (a) you wait at least a month before claiming and (b) that you should print and fax it.
If you don't want to do that I suggest you call the BAEC and seek alternatives. There are free resources for faxing online if you don't have access to a physical fax machine.

As for the BA membership number, if you received a small, non-standard size domestic boarding pass, you should see the BAEC membership number in very small letters in the top right hand corner.
JL has a peculiar booking system for domestic flights and I suspect that is why missing Avios claim cannot be processed in a normal way.

Thanks for that @LTN Phobia, the flight was only 8 days ago, I'll wait another week. And, on closer inspection, my BA number is indeed on the top right of the boarding card, gives me more faith that the points will eventually post :-)

I reported the missing JL on the dropdown to BAEC by phone and on the FT BA Website thread quite a while ago and nothing was ever done about it. Adding another option on a dropdown is not a big job but they do not seem want to do it.
