That would do quite nicely ^

I've still not fully recovered from the 'lympics… HMS Ocean was berthed just round the corner - the helicopters taking off and landing at all hours, every day for 3 months drove me oh-so-slightly nuts

With consumer drones pushing 8km+ ranges, anything is possible. It could be a relay, it could be someone sitting at their bedroom window, it could be someone sitting in the back of a van with a transmitter/receiver on the roof, flying the drone to different places each time for new batteries. Whoever is doing this has planned to do this for quite awhile, so I'm guessing it will be awhile yet until this is over.

Yes I spotted it doing what looks a bit like joining the bovingdon stack after I posted

must say, obviously would be better in different circumstances but I am rather enjoying the excuse to watch flightradar24 all day

From the ground to hit it with a shotgun I reckon it would need to be... what.... 50 meters or less above you to hit it with a shotgun? I'd imagine it's sitting higher than that.

Have any news teams managed to get any footage of these "drones"? Must be pretty small if a zoom lens cant even find it.

that appears to be some kind of training flight- if you look at the speed/altitude log it’s making multiple landing attempts and then immediately going around

The only video I've seen from last night looks more like the police helicopter...
