Yup. Couldn't miss it if I tried. Or so I thought.

Clearly, I missed what in the news precipitated cancellations on Dec 11, 16, 18 and 19.

The non-news based cancellations have already been explained within the thread.

So other than the one day (yesterday), none of the other cancelations have anything to do with the news this week. Seemed from your post that I had missed some significant news over the week that caused cancelations four of the five days.

Oh. I thought from your post that I had missed some major news event requiring a flight to be cancelled 5 times in 9 days.

It worked a lot better until earlier this year when they deactivated the "close" button. Before then I always used to have a private lift!

There were two drone based cancellations.
one due to a volcano near Costa Rica leading to an aircraft not getting back in time (volcano was in news)
one due to pilot reporting sick (not news but reported here)
the other was a simple tech issue

So several events outside of BA control, but hey, why let that get in the way of FTers being dramatic. Lol. We're doomed Morag we're doomed!!!!

maybe we should have a similar LHR - JNB thread as that's the LHR A380 sacrificial flight during irrops. Or one for the LHR-LBA shorthaul which is always the first to get binned. Those threads can also become dumping grounds for people just telling us they are travelling on the service in xxx days time. Lol
