100 Flights
Hi
Yesterday I completed my 100th flight of 2018. That's 83 domestic (mostly EDI to LON) and 17 Intl. 92 BA, 4 QR, 2 JU, 1 AA, 1 BE.
Reason I'm writing this? Just to say kudos to all you folks who do this year in, year out. It's been a tough year, and I really hope I do less travelling next year and get to see more of my home life!
EDI > DOH > BLR tomorrow, my final jaunt of the year, returning on 22nd. I might even get to be home for Christmas!
Seriously, fair play to those of you who are Lifetime Gold, GGL, GGL for Life etc.....100 flights in a year is probably nothing to you, but it sure as heck has pummelled me this year!

I did have that fear in the back of my mind when I made my post. However I suspect I cannot hold a candle to some of the folks on here in terms if flights and miles. No, my post was more a sympathy post, now that I feel some degree of the pain felt by all your seasoned travellers...

However, I provide 'specialist' services in quite a specific industry where doing things by Skype or conference call isn't really possible. I get to manage my own travel schedule, so make it work for me.
That being said, there are quite a few on here who are doing significantly more flying than I do.

I've considered one year going for 5000 TP as 3000 TP is a level I could just about maintain with work travel, but I don't want to use my holidays allowance on making a 3 runs to HNL a year.

I'll finish the year on 137 or 139 sectors depending on whether I go to AGP tomorrow (currently nursing some sort of virus). Vast majority of that has been private travel, although I've done a fair bit of business flying, that tends to be direct though so it doesn't multiply up the sectors.

I thought I was doing well (or badly, depending on how you look at it) at c. 80 sectors this year (about 70% long haul mainly LHR to JFK/SFO/LAX) so hats off to anyone who goes into triple digits every year... Frankly I'd be delighted if I can drop it back down to below 50 next year.
