Linked PNRs and Oneworld benefits
Hi, im oneworld emerald and my partner has no status.
We are flying together on seperate pnrs due to work compensation issues. Ive managed to have the two pnrs linked, and seats for her allocated next to me for free by calling ba. Lounge access I know I can guest her in.
How about othet benefits?
- will she get oneworld emerald luggage allowance?
- once linked, is there still a chance Ill be opuped, but she wont? Unlikely to be opuped at all, but still an interesting situation.
How about if we are flying in separate classes? Can pnrs still be linked? This may happen in future as work bookings vary, only by luck are we both in y+ this time around.
Thanks for the input, I didn't find much searching the ba forum.

All linking does is note one booking in the other. In terms of your questions;
- no she won’t get emerald baggage allowance, she will just get a baggage allowance based on her stayis and cabin
- yes it’s possible one of you may be upgraded
- bookings can be linked if you are in different cabins, but you wouldn’t be able to do the free seat selection for her by calling, that only applies when in the same cabin.

The additional emerald baggage allowance would apply if she was on the same booking as you.
Linking a PNR is not the same as being on the same booking.
see the ‘extra allowances’ section

Thanks, so why do they allow free seating for her under a linked PNR, but not other benefits such as free baggage?
Seems an odd situation. Is there any information (written) anyone can point me to on linking PNRs with BA? google search doesnt turn much up.

BA’s additional policy of allowing free seat selection on to separate is mentioned on the list of gold benefits on ba.com
https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb.../gold-benefits
- free seat selection from the time of booking for your whole party on British Airways flights – even friends and family on other bookings, as long as they’re in the same travel class and on the same flight* plus exclusive access to 1A and 1K when travelling in First for the Gold Member only
