Seat selection with no status

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't find it.

Mrs Akoz is currently BAEC Blue, which as I understand it means that when flying alone she can only select seats for free at the time of check-in at T-24.

However on flights this week and for the comminh Saturday the BA app seems to be alowing her to choose a seat 24 before check-in at -T-48. Has there been a policy change or have I been giving her the wrong advice?

Then it's included in the fare. See, for example:-

CE is also a Plus fare (when not booked with avios or connecting).

So seat selection 48h is correct in this case.
