Iberia & BA connecting flight what baggage allowance?
Looking at flight from LPA to LHR connecting at MAD in CE, we're Silver too. 1st part operated by Iberia then 2nd operated by BA. It says Iberia weight restrictions may apply, all I can see is 23kg each whereas obviously BA is 32kg (we're flying out with 32kg allowance as direct BA flight) but the table is very confusing. I've also read that the major carrier or longest leg weight allowance might apply, but unfortunately the Iberia leg in time is longer. Can anyone advise for definite what allowance we will be entitled to on the first leg, as obviously that would dictate all the other legs as we would be more restricted. Hope this makes sense. Thanks

The journey is all within one IATA subarea and Iberia is the airline with 1st international segment, so Iberia's allowance applies
The IB allowance is either zero pieces of 23kg or 1 piece of 23kg depending upon the fare
If holding status that allows for 1 additional piece then that will increase to a maximum of 2 ; the weight alowance of 23kg applies per bag

If LPA-MAD is a domestic route them BA's allowance will apply
BA's allowance is also 1 bag (max. 23kg / 51lb) ( see https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb...age-allowances )
The section for BA Silver/Gold where the additional weight allowance is mentioned also has the stipulation
"They apply to British Airways flights only and are not available to infant Members who are travelling without their own seat. Not available on group rate bookings"
There is the OneWorld allowance of an additional 1 piece of 23kg for silver/gold members

Does your ticket state the allowance? if not might be worth trying the QF manage booking - it is quite good for baggage allowances ime

And the IB business allowance also appears to match that of BA. Details can be found here
So long as you're on one thru ticket as opposed to separate tickets/bookings then the 2x 32kg rule will apply if you're in Business/Club.

That special page no longer applies, now that LHR-MAD IB flights are IB coded.

Not booked ticket yet 1st leg says operated by Iberia then 2nd is BA, yes Silver. It's 13th April LPA-MAD-LHR departing 13.55 arriving LHR 20.55 if that helps. Many thanks so confused!
