Upgraded.... almost

Picking my seat for BA107 recently I noticed that club was looking pretty full. I managed to grab the last available window seat but upstairs was full. So I wasn’t totally surprised to receive a new boarding pass at check in, namely 4A.

I didn’t have time to enjoy the CCR so went pretty much straight to the gate. Sadly, my pass beeped and the message ‘inhibited’ came up. Apparently 4A wasn’t reclining so it was back to CW for me. I can’t complain though; easy come, easy go. And I ended up in 64k...

A daytime flight I would have take F with no recline over CW anyday.

Yeah. Agreed. Although given I have to work the whole way the temptations in CW are easier to resist.

Maybe the person sitting there had been upgraded as well, to a seat which wasn't broken, so they got to stay and the OP got their original seat.

Maybe there were a last minute miss connect due to any number of reasons hence 64K becomes empty right at the closing of the flight. That was me a few days ago - reason no poor weather, wait to get on remote stand and then no buses!! From time of landing to getting to connections nearly 60 minutes.

64K is now a bassinet seat so blocked until (I think) 3 days before the flight. Even then it seems MMB often won't let you select it and sometimes it won't select at OLCI. Often the only way I can get it is by calling or doing it at the airport. Often therefore 64K can still be free on the day despite it being a very good seat.

Has anyone ever been kicked out of 64K, after selecting it, in favour of someone with an infant needing the bassinet, especially close to departure?

64K is now a bassinet seat too? Is that a recent change?

I know 64A was, then it wasn't, then now it's been back as that for a while.

I don't recall seeing a bassinet at 64K and that's my usual seat when flying Club on the 747. If there is one there then it must be a new development.

Phew! I thought for a minute I had missed something. Half the BA Board probably nearly fainted when you wrote that
