I think I still have the 1.55 connection in JFK, but with global entry and pre-clearance in Shannon, I think that's doable. Might even get special services I guess.

I wonder if, though it maybe "shouldn't" have let you book it in the first place, it's persisted because your flight to CLT has not changed? In my case, the DCA cancellation had (somehow) auto-rebooked me to CLT - but the first I knew about it was when I rang up, as the website failed to show the itinerary. The (very helpful) agent couldn't get that connection to work, so maybe it's a limit when manually rebooking.

I called through to AA on Saturday and spoke with a very helpful agent as noticed the changes on Thursday. I was initially concerned that they had brought the end of season of BA1 forward so pleased that wasn’t the case.

Same as Squawk I also opted for the AA291 on 3rd August and an overnight in JFK rather than Charlotte.

Look forward to seeing you onboard!

I've just changed mine due to the MCT breach at JFK.

I found my new route and sent the whole lot to AA via Twitter and they did everything within 5mins. Very efficient.

I finally got the re-issue ticket through on this and they had removed they had not removed AA588 and AA1194 has dropped off. Quick message on Twitter and half an hour later they came back saying that had to do "some serious work" on my reservation and everything is now sorted. Spotted I had lost my BA seat reservations! 1K on BabyBus and 64K on TATL restored thankfully!

Having noticed a few people changing this flight because of the 1h55 connection at JFK, anything for me to be concerned about @bisonrav ?

1hr 55mins practically speaking is plenty of time of you land on BA1 or have GE and are connecting from T7 to T8. However, MCT is 2 hours between T7 and T8 and there is no allowance made for BA1. So if a flight has been rebooked or retimed and your connection time has fallen below 2 hours you will have to call to sort it out otherwise at some point the systems will spot it and rebook it for you.

No idea to be honest. The lynchpin remains BA1, if this is cancelled then things change quite considerably. But for the moment I'm leaving things as they are until such a time as I'm contacted. I will probably look at options anyway so I can be proactive if there is a change forced on me.

I haven't even looked at the inter-terminal connections at JFK, but as pre-cleared in Shannon, I imagine I can take an internal connection route? Anyone know?

Not keen on overnighting in NY as it's very expensive. I would probably look to plod on to a more provincial destination during the evening and work from there to get to Miami without losing TPs.

There is no such thing for T7 to T8 (or vice versa). You'll be taking the AirTrain (or walking) between T7 to T8 and doing all the normal formalities there.

The only JFK air side option is the DL provided shuttle bus between T2/T4, for their passengers only.

What internal connection route would that be?

Basically for any T7<>T8 inter terminal connection at JFK it involves going landside, taking the airtrain, and then going back through security. Bear in mind a OWE can use the flagship check in channel in T8 (far right of the check in hall.

It is worth checking for changes pretty frequently - I've just had another one, without any notification, where they have slid me into economy despite there being business/first options available.

I did this T7<>T8 last week on my OTP to PHX TP run and we arrived on BA into JFK along with 2 other planes ( IB + another) and our 2 hour connection was instantly in jeopardy as we joined a very long queue on the downslope well before the toilets with what looked like 90 mins wait for immigration. Within a minute we were "tannoyed" and escorted to the front of the queue by an extremely helpful BA greeter. From there to the airtran took 10 mins, and it pulled in 5 mins later.

The queue at the AA terminal for security was HUGE and took another 30 mins even with us entering into the Premium option. I appreciate it was Easter but there was ample opportunity for us to miss our simple 2 hour connection. Getting off BA1 you of course enter in as a pre cleared domestic passenger but if not be warned.

Yes. Fortunately it isn't as bad for me these days since I got GE so I am usually out of T7 no more than 5 minutes after stepping off the plane. Also just to fill in some details for those on BA1 for this fare you do not go through the immigration hall and customs when you arrive. Instead you are deposited in the departures area and mix with departing passengers, to get out you follow the signs for arrivals and baggage which takes you to the opposite end of T7 near gate 10 (the babybus usually arrives in to gate 1), and go down and out via the separate domestic baggage hall.

In T8 if you are a OWE you can use flaghip check in which also leads in to ts-precheck if you have that - it usually seems quite fast. There is also a fast track for those not eligible for flagship - but I never found it that fast!

After a bit of reflection I've taken the @awoxp routing, as may as well have the TPs as not. It's showing online after a twitter interaction, just now waiting to see whether it tickets OK. Should be up to 720TPs now, which since I booked 640 is quite pleasing. @mtikky please note that I've broken ranks.

Now hoping for a deconstruction of the return, which is mostly a rather dull direct flight from MIA to JFK on the 767.

Have prodded AA on twitter and waiting for them to reply. I'll try for the same rerouting if I can. As BA1 is my first TATL I don't want to risk getting stuck in NY for the night.
