GLA Lounge at breakfast time

Hello fellow flyers,

I'm going to be flying out of GLA early doors next Thursday and wondered what sort of breakfast I can expect in the lounge?

I've done the GLA lounge several times in the evening, but never the morning. I'm guessing fruit juice, toast, and some cereal, maybe a hot porridge?

I'm flying in CE so I'll get the full English on-board, but it's nice to pre-snack in the lounge. Anyone got first-hand experience?

Hi.

Yes, there is normally fruit juices, cereal, fruit, porridge, croissants and pastries but sadly no toast. There is also usually fresh yogurt on offer.

I did an early morning GLA-LHR this week and I have to say I was disappointed in the breakfast on offer in the lounge. The pastries and cereal selection were both fine but maybe a bacon roll would not go amiss - by 10:00 each morning, normally 8 BA flights to LON have already departed.

I miss the toasters! It was a sad day when they were left behind in the old lounge but current lounge is much nicer.

I like my porridge thick, I know there is a fashion for a weak broth that passes as porridge but that just doesn't cut it for me! I almost want to be able to cut my porridge!

I prefer my porridge on a plate served in a roll with bacon and real butter oozing out.

The offering in the regional lounges is pitiful for breakfast.

You get a decent bacon roll as well as toast upstairs in the "upper deck" lounge for those with priority pass

Having just sampled the Porridge, I can confirm that in my view it is also pretty decent, nice thick consistency, but not too thick, it's winner.

But a bacon roll or roll and square sausage would go down a treat!

I always grab my last proper bacon roll from one of the lounges at LHR as I head home Stateside after the holidays. Now I’m craving a square sausage, which as I’m currently sitting on a beach just South of Cancun, isn’t going to happen any time soon!

I make Lorne sausage regularly and freeze them...the process is very easy.
