It seems like we have quite a few are taking advantage of the recent good price on OTP-PHX so I thought it might be a good idea to see if we could put together some ad-hoc meet-ups. I don't want to organise anything as it seems that we are all travelling on different dates and, in some cases different routes, but it would be a shame to be on the same flight or in the same lounge as another FTer, not know and not be able to share a beer and stories... if that is what you want. Of course, if you like to travel alone then that is great too.

I am staying 3 nights for no other reason than I can. I haven't got anything in particular I want to do in Phoenix but I am getting a car so I will enjoy just driving around the local area and getting out into the one or two of the national parks or getting into the mountains.
I booked my hotels through booking.com as they are all cancellable and I use the ratings there and on Tripadvisor to determine if I want to stay there so it looks like the Ramade Plaza is pretty good from what I can tell. Not the cheapest but not too bad at about £90 per night as it has some nice spa and gym facilities which I will definitely use.

Just had a closer look at the fare rules...
Anyone else wanting to get an OTP-LHR-JFK-LAX-PHX at this price will have to hurry as this fare must be ticketed by end of TODAY!!!!

AA and BA seem to only allow 6 flights on their website. If anyone has any helpful tips, I may just book this...

I suggest finding Google Flights or ITA Matrix first. There are lots of useful threads here. Give me a minute and I'll find some for you.

This is my first TP run so I am certainly no expert but I have been following along here on the forum for a while now and so thought I'd have a go. You may have success booking via Matrix powertools online but I found that the best way to book for me was by phone direct with an airline. BA refused to book me on a trip that was using AA codeshares so I had to book through AA. I didn't want to use a travel agent line Priceline or Travel Network... it can get difficult if things don't go smoothly (irops). I was just careful to tell them which flights I wanted and in what booking classes and they were fine... the price worked out to the same price as I found on Matrix to the penny!.

Yes, that is a bit of a PITA. but at least at that time there won't be too many people around I would imagine. All I need is a place to bunker down until the lounge opens at 4am so not so bad IMO. The main benefit of the lounge for me is less people and easy access to refreshment but in the middle of the night I probably won't be bothered about either of those things tbh. I'll let you know
