Concorde

i apologise if this isn’t the correct forum, but it is BA related. My daughter’s boyfriend loves anything to do with Concorde and she is trying to find a copy of an original advertisement poster for it. She doesn’t want a modern one, it has to be a copy of an original poster. Does anyone know where she can get one? She has searched online and they are all modern, or not for sale.

Many thanks

Not exactly posters, and maybe you already came across these but BA have a media gallery with choices of download sizes. Perhaps there is something that could be printed for them here...(mind you, looking at the rules that might not be allowed ) lots of Concorde, but not necessarily advertising posters.

Thank you, I will send the link to my daughter. She is looking to get something framed to go above his desk at home.

I was lucky to be training with BA when the last flight landed, but sadly didn’t have a camera.

Simple Google search ('Concorde vintage poster') throws up this as an example - https://www.redbubble.com/people/vectorwebstore/works/20502717-concorde-vintage-holiday-poster?finish=lustre&p=photographic-print&size=small&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc& utm_campaign=g.pla+notset&country_code=GB&gclid=Cj wKCAiA_ZTfBRBjEiwAN6YG4U9l8DzkJ6XigawAm-bRj7IJPNqlQCcRUDsL-ZNjpaQxehxuTMkJTBoCfi4QAvD_BwE

Loving that image library. I fear there are about to be some arguments at home when I want to put up an Imperial Airways image in the lounge!

Couple more bits of info on this. The voluteers who run the museum are great and if you find a different poster online which isn’t in the gallery they may also be able to do a reproduction of it for you.

They can also accept card payments over the phone as well as cheques in the post.

Searching for ‘Concorde British Airways Poster’ on Google Images will give you idea of some of the posters that existed which you can then ask about. However there don’t seem to have been as many featuring Concorde as I would have expected.

Thank you for your help. My daughter is going to look through and call. We did google, both of us, but when we clicked on the pics they weren’t for sale, or were modern interpretations.

You havd been very helpful, thank you.

The Times printed a lovely photo of Concorde taking off with engines going full blast. I bought a copy and have the photo on my desk. I don’t know how long they keep photos but it may be worth looking through The Times photo library.

I collect vintage airline posters...

My latest was a beautiful TWA poster from Antikbar on the kings road in London. Though they have nothing Concorde at the moment, affiche passion in Paris and Galerie 123 in Geneva tend to have AF Concorde posters, stickers, menus.

highly recommended David Pollack in Delaware. He doesn’t post the condition on his site but you can email and ask.

Posterup is based in Chicago, I’ve never used them personally but others have spoken highly of the quality and accuracy in describing the condition, I know they have a beautiful Concorde poster up for sale at the moment

I have this one in my home:

I had a large home office with double height ceilings at my former home and would collect vintage airline/travel posters from all the different countries/cities I had been to. They were all up the walls and when arranged and framed well, thanks to an interior designer, it looked really rather good. Or so I thought. Allposters.com used to be a great resource and they had very high quality giclee prints.
