Looks like they have switched the arrival runway straight after she landed, I wonder if this is precautionary or if it's more serious then!

BA987 from TXL is about to land on the north runway, so not closed.

No, BA987 TXL-LHR has just landed on 09L.
FR24 has G-XLEE well clear of the runway.

It's not often you see tracks like this! Glad they are down safely.

I had a 5 hours of flying to go nowhere on BA in early 2016. The good thing is that I was on the upper-deck of the 747. I felt extremely sorry for the World Traveller passengers.

They are now at T5
FR24 has turned off the comms.
They will all be happy to deplane
then it will be another long wait to get their gear back and get their hotel and meals vouchers

They've had 4 hours to prepare the hotels. Fingers crossed everyone is sorted!

GLA can't normally take an A380, the Emirates visit was a one off with lots of planning and special permission. The runway isn't strong enough. Not sure about PIK, but probably doesn't have any equipment to de-plane the passengers either.
I'm guessing in a true emergency, they would try to land there and use the emergency evacuation slides.
