Looks like Bruce Lee is heading back to LHR, BA269?

Seems BA269 shows a 4 hour delay now as per ba.com. About 2-2.5 hours in the air, is that enough fuel burn to land without dumping fuel on the A380?

Any info on the nature of this emergency, it looks as though it is not diverting to the nearest airport as its gone past some large ones in Scotland.

He's still up at FL320 so must be OK fuel burn wise or they'd have gone down low level to burn it off. Speed's a bit down at M.80.

What happens onboard these diverted flights? Is there still some sort of service or does everything stop?

All service stops and they just switch the IFE to a loop of Corporal Jones shouting Don’t Panic!

That would be a ‘moveable feast’ (hahaha) depending on the situation. I’ve been fed onboard at the stand at LGW while BA aorted out a texh issue

They're doing a nice tight little holding pattern at 13000 feet north east of Oxford, poor sods. Hope they get a bar service at least, presumably this is the fuel burn part and I suppose may last a while.

Wondering if G-XLEE has wifi so we can brief them on the EC261 position.

Had a midflight turn around en-route to JNB a couple of years ago.... Somewhere over Algeria so pretty much a 6hr flight to nowhere due to a problem with the #4 engine. Bar service as normal followed by main meal (dinner) after we turned back and landing back into C gates at around 1am where letters were handed out regarding the delay and which bus stop to go to for the overnight accommodation. Yes it was frustrating but ultimately it was handled as well as it could have been. Ops decided to bring us back to LHR as opposed to continue to JNB due to industrial action with the maintenance provider in JNB which would have resulted in a stranded aircraft down route for a number of days. Whatever the issue was would have been a no go item for the return sector.
