I'm not sure where you saw that but a comment about more J seats than 747 is hardly conclusive. Especially as your mentioned seat count is the same. I would be willing to be a lot that it won't be "at least 53 seats".

Most likely 331 seats. (J50 W48 Y233 as mentioned above). Again most likely all J50 in the first section between doors 1 & 2 and most likely 2-4-2 (premium economy) and 3-3-3 (economy).

So on the whole it should be good and relatively spacious in J and Y, but as with all(?) A350 not so good in W.

AC said the A351 will have a few more seats than the mid-J 747 which has 52 (hence the 'at least 53' remark, we all know it will not be 53 but it's a baseline), it's in the IAG capital markets day presentation - as already explained. Which is a lot more official a source than anyone can name for the J50 W48 Y233 configuration which has already been denied by a BA employee SpeedbirdLHR

most likely 2-4-2 (premium economy) and 3-3-3 (economy)
Thanks for that @:-)

I heard the A350 won't have crew bunks for the first few deliveries.

Which would presumably affect the routes they can operate, cutting out the longer ones...

My CX flight in W was very good, the calf rest was certainly appreciated.

Interesting - so only 3 fewer seats overall than Cathay (331 vs 334), but with 34 more 'premium' seats (+10J, +24W). If they can manage that with a genuinely good new CW, they should be onto a winner. Don't expect too many toilets though!

9.
Are you able to share how those are split? Cathay is 10 total, 6 in Y, 2 in J and 2 between W and J.

If all 56 seats are between doors 1 and 2, then I'm not sure things bode well for the new Club World seat. If it's two rows behind doors 2, in a mini-cabin as Qatar do, then I think it has a fighting chance of being competitive.

The 787-10 is more of a medium range high capacity aircraft, it's a little more understandable.

The A35K is up there with the 777LR for range though. It seems odd to hold it back so much, unless the first few are just going to be 747 replacements on JFK and the like.

Yup and it’s not really any different in CW, even in the aisle seats.

I never get the ‘dorm’ whines, as a reason to choose one a/c over an other as it’s somethign you never notice other than when you board/ go to the Lav.

It’s that slight feeling of exclusivity that you don’t get in a CW dorm.

Especially as it is mooted on travelingformiles.com that the VS A351 has 44 new UC seats which look like they are between doors 1 and 2 in a 1-2-1 configuration.

Wouldn't it be ironic if BA and VS new J seat were the same If BA went for a mini-cabin of three rows after door 2 that would take us to 56 J seats.
