Stobart Air to operate for BA Cityflyer

98 seats, fixed Club cabin of 6. First one running from 16 November until the end of June 2019, and the second one added from end of January to the end of summer. Aircraft will nightstop in LCY and DUB. These aircraft are to add capacity required for the new Rome and Munich routes plus additional Zurich rotation, before the four additional frames arrive next year.

they won't be the 195s currently in the fleet, as these cant operate to LCY. Sources elsewhere say they are coming from Virgin Australia, who do have a fixed 6 seat business class cabin and 92 economy seats. Is 6 club seats a bit on the small side?

Are there actually any BA planes operating BA flights these days?
there are so many of these leased planes from numerous other airlines it’s a lottery if you get a BA service!

I would say there are quite a few. Especially as there are only 2 leased aircraft now operating flights for BA. One is the A343 Leased from Air Belgium which is operating from LHR and the other is a S2000 Leased from Loganair to operate the LCY-IOM Route.

I think the post was a bit tongue in cheek but in October Jota, Titan, Air Belgium and Eastern all did charter work for BA.

First E90 will be registered EI-GHJ. The aircraft will begin operating for BACF on 16th November, which is two days earlier than previously announced. During the first week of operation the aircraft is due to operate

LCY/NCE being operated by Stobart Air
I received emails this afternoon concerning several flights I have booked next summer to Nice. BA have written this:
We're writing to let you know that there has been a change to the airline that will operate your flight to London City Airport.
We’ve had to make some adjustments to our schedule and have leased an aircraft from Stobart Air. They will operate the flight on our behalf so you can fly to your destination as planned. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Does anyone have any more information about this; or know how the Stobart planes compare with BA Cityflyer?

The Stobart Group came about in 2007 when the haulage business was bought by a property fund. The combined company was renamed the Stobart Group. The group began to focus of infrastructure and support services, plus the airline and haulage firm was off loaded in 2014, although the group goes still hold share in it.

That's a new one on me too. I wonder if this is the "new" E195s that Stobart announced it was getting last year. LUX is T3 so there is relatively easy scope for using the Gate 24 bus area for E195s or indeed ATRs (hopefully not!).

Just to be picky here. The E195 can’t and I suspect never will be able to operate into LCY.
Same applies to the E175.
BA operate the E170&E190 which is able to operate into LCY
STK will operate 2xE190 for BA
not to be confused with the 3xE195 that STK also have, which currently operate ex SEN as part of the flybe franchise but will soon be looking for a new home, potentially UK regional flying into DUB on behalf of aer Lingus regional.
