You want to pay money to go airside to spend time in a mediocre lounge drinking champagne, before making a pain of yourself to find a BA agent to get you through customs (or head out to 5C and back?)
I suppose I can see the "value" in a BA burger and knocking back a bottle of champagne, but I would probably just spend my money landside for better food / drink.

Even when inviting a guest into the LHR T3 CX F lounge - and knocking back a bottle of champagne between us and a couple of meal courses - I’d be hard-pressed to place a value of upwards of £100 per person on that. Then again, if we then moved along to the QF lounge and sat at the gin bar for an hour it might start to make financial (if not clarity of mind) sense.

You might, at a push, be able to put a retail value of £100 on the food and drink you consumed, but would you really actually pay £100 to spend a couple of hours in an airport lounge - even one as pleasant as the CX T3 one - eating and drinking yourself into a stupor?

I'd rather spend £80.00 having a two/three course meal and plenty of drinks at Carluccios. (I'd struggle to spend £80 there, in fact).
They do a decent spaghetti alle vongole, for instance.
In addition you don't have to re-clear security, you don't need to wait to be escorted out, and you get Heathrow Rewards which you could convert to Avios if you wish.
You don't tend to get annoying, loud mobile phone/FaceTime talkers on speakers there, either.
I think it's a better deal overall.
An alternative is to buy Club Millesime access at Sofitel as an add-on to your stay. That way, you won't have all the above issues, either.

With the greatest of respect, folks, it’s really not your place to decide whether it’s a good idea for the OP or not. I’m sure if we dig into your lives we’d find some pretty strange things going on. Let’s be a little less judgemental and offer some useful advice instead.

If you really want to do this - any Avios award flight you can find should be cheap enough on RFS (£35 plus some low number of Avios); or as someone else said book a fully flexible ticket and just cancel it before departure
If you're spending more than the £35 RFS price, I do have to agree you might be better off just getting something over in the Sofitel or elsewhere with the money...you could do a pretty awesome M&S picnic in your hotel room for £35 (M&S is in T5 Arrivals, right on the way to Sofitel...)
