OT: getting a sim card at LHR T5 arrivals
Family member arriving at T5 in a few days. She will need a local sim for ten days.
Can u pick up a lebara sim at whsmith? Any other (not tourist ripoff) sims available at T5? (Need a few GB data and local calls) Thx .. |
There’s a vending machine in the baggage hall containing any number of SIM cards and deals. I’ve never used one - I just noticed it on Thu when waking through. |

I often pick up the SIM card from 3 from the vending machines in T3 or T5. They allow usage across the EU (for now) and connection is fairly good. Validity of the packages is 30 days.

You can always have a look at Smith's or there's the sim local store or as above look for the vending machine. Also see this thread in the technology forum for some reports on the different offerings/deals:
