BA Future CW seat

As many of you on this forum have already flown in business class and tried different kind of hard products on many airlines competing with BA.

I wonder, which hard product design, do you think that BA should adapt in their future CW seat design?

If they've got any sense they'll go for something similar to the Oman Air/JAL setup which will allow them to largely maintain the current density and give everyone aisle access.

The one that generates most revenue per m length of fuselage, even in low season off peak flights.

The seat has already been decided upon - that was basically intimated in the various capital markets presentations.

The only thing we really know is that apparently all seats will have aisle access.

As to BA caring what any of us think ...

Do you think it is going to be an upgraded version of the current seat or a complete different design and features?

Decisions already made as stated above. This really has to be a totally new set-up, not just some sort of minor upgrade.

The clear requirement for proper storage (anything more than the current offering would be an improvement on that aspect !) at all seats, and some measure of privacy were apparently deemed must-haves in the design phase, along with the basic all-aisle access of course.

CEO Alex Cruz is confidently asserting it will be worth the wait, judging from the comments made in a speech* at a business gathering in April of this year : “It really is something else

Lots of fingers are being crossed ; but as with all significant product changes at BA, time alone will tell ........

I would imagine that would be the most sensible thing to do. Adding all aisle access and a cubby hole or two to the present seat would keep most punters happy.

Walking through the BA Facility on Friday evening on our way to the simulators, the area that was being used for developing the new CW product is now looking less like Fort Knox.

The doors were wide open, and there seemed to be a few mock up cabins set up in there (obviously only saw the outside of the fuselage)

So if they're still using that area it would seem as though things are pretty well advanced.
