This thread relates to SPG Law's proposed Group Proceedings against British Airways, in respect of the Data Protection Act 2018 (which incorporates the GDPR).
There is a separate thread that relates to the actual data breaches and their implications for customers, which is to be found here: BA Investigating Theft of Personal and Financial Data
The one law firm that currently seems to be persuing a Class Action against BA is SPG. They have a specific site set up at https://www.badatabreach.com/ - please make sure you check all the FAQs and terms and conditions and make sure the Class Action is right for you before you sign up.
* SPG is now PGMBM.
* Payments are being made through Shieldpay, who are seeming to be both lethargic and/or inept.

Please forgive my intransigence, I ignored this back at the relevant time. Maybe I had a feeling of sympathy toward BA or unrequited loyalty even.
However on refection I was affected at the relevant time and had a 4 ticket BKK return in J booked in my name.
A simple question am I too late to change my mind to join the action?

Received my email this morning. Very pleasantly surprised - mainly because I had contacted them with my name and exec club number (i think that's all) right at the start and then decided not to actually participate after reading a few of the comments at the start of this thread. A couple of years later and numerous totally ignored emails and calls from them I am told I am Category 1 and will receive XXX. Bizarre - but obviously not complaining. A smaller amount than I would have thought (knowing next to nothing about this sort of thing) but XXX more than i was expecting indeed! Will use it to upgrade my next flight to complete the circle somewhat.

Did you not know that where loyalty is concerned, it's a one way process from BA or indeed any other airline, you give, they take.

2B for me, im ok with the amount, it compensates fairly for the anxiety and hassle caused by working my behind off for a big big holiday (far east trip) working all nights up to midnight to get my work completed so i didnt have to stress about it on holiday (i.e a holiday without opening work emails) only for the data breach to be dropped on me the night before i left. I guess its fair based on 2b scenario, although i have no way of knowing how they worked out if people were 2a or 2b but i just have to trust those who were working on it.

The fact that you only use three X’s after the pound sign sums up all categories quite effectively 😀
