Well, I was surprised. It turned out to be as good as one could expect it to be on an airplane.

The steak dish on the same menu was actually pink and very tasty on the 207 to Miami on Tuesday
Only ordered it as didn’t really fancy the other dishes and was pleasantly surprised.

Am I the only one who thinks that the lobster could be improved one million per cent just by adding the claw?

(I do not like lobster by the way )

I ordered this as well to "take one for the team", but also at the encouragement of the lovely cabin crew member and because the other options did not sound particularly interesting.

Compared to yours, mine had the sauce over the potatoes rather than the lobster. I expected it to be much worse than it was. That said the scallops from the second meal seemed closer to what I would expect at a nice restaurant, whereas the lobster was a bit bland, in part because there was no melted butter to pour over the lobster.

Regarding having the lobster in the shell vs. not, while I understand that's the typical form of presentation, I don't really need the shell on an airplane as I'm not going to eat the shell.

The scallops look nice.

That lobster dish still looks like a cooked, shelled lobster tail, and not a lobster tail cut into pieces and mixed with Thermidor sauce.

OT: is there a more depressing word on a menu than “scallop”?

Those scallops look good.

As to BA’s attempts at a lobster thermidor..... well, the less said the better.

I has the "Lobster Thermindor" last week. Its not Thermidor at all.
The dish is a small steamed lobster tail. Its was a bit tough but still tasted of lobster.
The accompanying potatoes, in a herby sauce, and peas where actually very nice
