Tier point question...

Sorry if this should be in another (sticky) thread somewhere, but not having been too concerned with Tier Points until now, I wonder if someone can just confirm a few things for me please, regarding my current, and upcoming flights/tier point situation...

I am currently Blue (yes...sorry! LOL) with 200 TP's

My BA account tells me that my year ends on 8th Dec 2018...However, I am flying from EDI-LHR-LAX on Dec 12th in F, and returning on the 19th, again in F (which I think should net me 500 TPs...210 each way for the LHR-LAX leg, and 40 each way for the EDI-LHR leg).

But, will I be making this flight with a zero TP balance? Will my account have reset to zero TPs by the time I fly? So will that mean that I will only get Bronze from my F trip to LAX?

Thanks in advance...

Cheers,
Kevin

Yes.

your TPs will reset on the 8th. Any flights taken after this date will count towards your next year

You might get a 2 week extension. HOWEVER, consider using this flight to get you 500 TP at the start of your next year, and then do some sort of run to get 100 TPs soon afterwards. That will give you the benefit of silver for the remainder of the next TP year plus the following one, so whatever happens you'll be silver until end of Feb 2021

January 2021 (not Feb)

But I agree entirely with what you say. Much better option.

Thanks for that advice! That makes a lot more sense...

I should be able to get 100TPs quite easily...a couple of return trips to London, from Edinburgh should see it done, and then Silver for nearly 24 months...

Thanks for the help

You’ll get you four BA flights on this one alone, so if you had a spare day in USA you could get 100 tier points reasonably easily I could understand
